Meeting Place: Hagerman NWR, Visitor Center

Directions:

  • Route 1:
    From Dallas, Plano, or Frisco, go north on Preston Road (TX 289). After crossing over US 82 (GPS coordinates: 33.671093, -96.698525, west of Sherman, TX), continue for 4.4 miles on TX 289. Look for the small "Refuge Rd" sign on the left and turn left onto Refuge Rd. Continue for 4.3 miles to the Visitor Center.

  • Route 2:
    Go north on US 75 to Sherman. Exit onto US 82 and head west for a few miles until you reach TX 289 (Preston Rd). Go north on TX 289 for 4.4 miles. Look for the small "Refuge Rd" sign on the left and turn left onto Refuge Rd. Continue for 4.3 miles to the Visitor Center.

Events and activities hosted by the Friends of Hagerman are funded by donations and powered solely by volunteers.  There are no fees for admission to the refuge or parking. The refuge is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year and you may drive on any road unless gated.
