Trip on August 11, 2024, to 

Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge in Sherman, Texas, for Perseid Meteor Shower at Crow Hill

The Photography Club went on a field trip to photograph the Perseid meteor shower at the Crow Hill trailhead at Hagerman NWR. We met up after sunset, set up our equipment, and waited for the meteors. We saw a few meteors! This was the first attempt at night photography of stars and meteors for a couple of the photographers. Take a look at the photos below of the photo club members who attended the field trip.

(Please note that the refuge closes at sunset, but the photo club had permission to stay in the refuge after dark.)

Events and activities hosted by the Friends of Hagerman are funded by donations and powered solely by volunteers.  There are no fees for admission to the refuge or parking; the refuge is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year, drive on any road unless gated.
