Trip on August 1, 2023, to

Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge in Sherman, Texas, for Night Shoot of Sunset and Supermoon

The Photography Club went on a field trip for an evening photo shoot at Hagerman NWR. The shoot included sunset shots across the water and moonrise with the August 1st super moon. Temperature was seasonably hot and humid, and yet 14 photographers showed up to endure the weather. We met on Plover Road and set up our equipment to catch the sunset and waited patiently for the super moon to appear. The super moon arose with a bright orange color, then hid behind some clouds, and shortly reappeared as white. Some people used light painting technique on the oil pumpjacks and got some interesting photos. Take a look at the photos below of some photo club members who attended the field trip. Click on each image to enlarge and see entire photo.

(Please note that the refuge closes at sunset, but the photo club had permission to stay in the refuge after dark.)

Shown below are photos taken by people who attended. Thank you for sharing!
