The Refuge Rocks! Upcoming Programs

    • The Visitor Center

There’s something truly magical to kids about the night sky.  Maybe it’s because they aren’t often out after dark. Or, maybe it’s because the night sky and the patterns of the stars have mystified humans for centuries. If your kids are interested in learning about space and stars, don’t miss this program!  Inevitably, kids will ask: "How many stars are in the sky?" or "Why do the stars shine at night?" plus a million other variations of those impossible-to-answer questions. It's all part of the scientific inquiry process -- being intrigued enough to ask the questions and then heading off to find the answers!  Astronomy is fun all year round, but summer is a great time to lay outside in the cool grass on a warm night and do some stargazing.  The night sky is such an endlessly fascinating subject.  It’s so much fun to learn about the moon and the stars.  Come join us for some stargazing activities that are out of this world!  They’ll really add a twinkle to your child’s eye!  This free nature activity program is for youth ages 5-10.
