  • Develop Second Saturday programs to educate the general public about wildlife conservation
  • Sponsor “The Refuge Rocks,” nature programs for children
  • Host visiting groups and facilitate their educational activities
  • Maintain our butterfly garden—a beautiful place that has attracted species new to Grayson County
  • Sponsor nature oriented recreational programs
  • Facilitate bluebird populations by providing and monitoring nest boxes
  • Provide interesting educational tram tours of the refuge via the “Wildlife Explorer”
  • Produce “The Featherless Flyer” newsletter and other publications to promote conservation
  • Provide educational nature walks

The refuge is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year, drive on any road unless gated.

Admission to the refuge, parking and most events/activities are funded by donations and powered by volunteers.
